QUIET REVOLUTION is more than a media art studio or atelier; it is a mindset. A platform for art – research – discourse of Vanessa Ramos-Velasquez.

ARTIST STATEMENT: My practice is about transformation. Decolonial artivism conjugating micro-narratives and macro-history, invoking and evoking ancestry.  Reclaiming Indigenous ancestry dissolved through colonial processes of erasure. Recent works are about recomposing the fragmented body, learning from multi-species kinship via sensory autoethnography in the Amazonian region. My creative process leverages Artistic Research in the fields of Cultural History & Theory, History of Knowledge, Media Philosophy and Political Ecology, focusing on concepts and practices of Forest-School & Body-Territory. These interests converge into lecture-performances, social interactive rituals, and installations engaging the multisensorial potential of the human experience.
